As much of the rap community continues to come to terms with the untimely death of XXXTentacion, close friend and collaborator Yung Bans is paying tribute to the late rapper with his newest effort, "So Long My Friend."

The track, which features production from Otxhello and Danny Wolf, barely stretches over two minutes as the Atlanta rapper spits about his state of mind after learning of X's murder. "Killed my brother, hair was blue like he from Four Seasons/When I woke up, got the news, I swear I couldn't believe it/Pushin' up with raw revenge, we don't do no grievance," he raps melodically over the trap-like synths.

A few short days after the news of X's death rippled through social media, Bans teased the song on Instagram along with the caption: "I hope this helps get y'all through." Their friendship aside, the rappers have previously connected on wax for their Ski Mask The Slump God-assisted single "ILoveItWhenTheyRun."

Bans joins a long list of artists who have recently paid tribute to the life of XXXTentacion to some extent. Wifisfuneral drew inspiration from X for his newest set of tattoos, which include the world "Alone" as well as a broken heart under his eye. Trippie Redd also honored X by dying his hair in a similar fashion to the "Sad!" rapper.

In addition to dropping off his tribute to X, Bans is also gearing up for the release of his Yung Bans Vol. 5 project. The artwork for the eight-track project features the rapper emulating the late David Bowie's Aladdin Sane cover, as he is pictured shirtless with his eyes closed and donning the musician's signature thunderbolt on his face. YBN Nahmir and Juice Wrld are featured on the project as well.
