It's not everyday you get to see yourself on the big screen, so rapper KR is definitely enjoying his moment. Starring as Juju in the new film Superfly, KR celebrated the movie's release as well as his role in the film on Instagram.

On Thursday (June 14), the rapper posted a still from the movie, thanking fans for the support. "#SuperflyMovie is out now, appreciate the low so far," he wrote. KR also recently shared a heartfelt message about his journey to where he is now, adding the caption under a photo of a Superfly billboard in Los Angeles.

"I faced years and years of being disrespected and teased throughout my entire career," he wrote. "I never told anyone but it really got to me and it put me through serious depression, I never made friends that stuck around not to mention a whole bunch of family abandonment issues."

The rapper continued to detail the struggles he faced throughout his career and revealed how he was able to push through. "Dreams are real y’all ! Thank you to my family • supporters • team @superflymovie and @sonypictures for taking a chance on me when nobody else did," he added. "You have officially added acting to my catalog! Beyond Grateful."

Along with starring a few rappers in the movie, Superfly also gets a hip-hop-inspired soundtrack from Future. Also serving as executive producer, Future appears on 10 of the soundtrack's 13 songs. The project also includes guest appearances from Young Thug, Gunna, Lil Wayne, Yung Bans, Khalid, H.E.R., Miguel, Young Thug, PartyNextDoor, 21 Savage and Sleepy Brown.
