Building off the momentum of her bouncy single, "Slide," Kamaiyah is ushering in a summertime anthem with the release of her latest effort, “Addicted to Ballin'."

Drawing inspiration from the G-funk sound of the West Coast, Kamaiyah enlists ScHoolboy Q for the bass-heavy track as they rap about their flagrant pursuit of money. "I have to get my cash/The money is callin', got bands, got bands, got bands/I'm addicted to ballin'," the Oakland native croons throughout the song's catchy chorus.

The arrival of "Addicted to Ballin'" Friday (June 8) comes just six months after Kamaiyah teased the collaboration with the Top Dawg Entertainment frontman back in January. Initially, the Interscope record signee shared photos of their studio session on Instagram, which only added to the anticipation surrounding the potential West Coast hit.

Over the course of the past year, Kamaiyah has been steadily making a household name for herself. With two mixtapes under her belt, including A Good Night in the Ghetto and Before I Wake, the Oakland native's nostalgic flow and eye for stirring visuals have made her a woman to watch in hip-hop. And, now it looks like she's gearing up for the release of a new project soon.

During the 2017 XXL Freshman shoot, Kamaiyah candidly discussed her place in rap's ever-changing landscape. "You’ve never seen a female rapper on this pedestal from the West Coast in a long fuckin’ time," she said.

"So, I feel like this is all curating a generation of young women who want to be successful, who want to be motivated. It’s like, if I can do it you can do it…you know what I’m saying? I feel like I’m setting the tone and setting the movement," the "Seasons" rapper added.
