Chris Brown Serves Vintage Choreography in “Hope You Do” Video

Chris Brown has released a new video for "Hope You Do" from his latest album Heartbreak on a Full Moon. As he's known to do, Breezy gets down.

The clip, which Brown co-directed with Daniel CZ, features the "Loyal" singer and his backup dancers delivering choreography along the ornate staircases of an apparently abandoned art-deco building. In an old-school pea coat and fedora, Brown channels Broadway vibes. The second half of the video features the crew dancing in an empty freeway tunnel.

Heartbreak on a Full Moon, released in October, passed one million U.S. album sale equivalents in February, giving Brown his sixth platinum album. Not bad for a 45-song double-disc. Meanwhile, the singer's Lil Dicky collaboration "Freaky Friday" is enjoying its 11th week on the Hot 100, after having peaked this week at number eight.

The video is Brown's first release since efforts by a women's rights organization in May renewed attention on the singer's past in a letter requesting that Spotify remove music by artists accused of domestic violence, including Brown. In recent months, the singer was sued by a woman who claims she was raped in his home, and filmed on camera appearing to choke a woman.
