Childish Gambino may be gracefully bowing out of the rap game, but that hasn't delayed the "This Is America" lyricist from continuing to exercise his artistry elsewhere. Gearing up for the third installment of his FX series Atlanta, Gambino recently revealed that the methodology behind the show's production will, in some ways, mimic Kanye West's Graduation album.

On Friday night (June 8), the star of the series spoke extensively about his creative process during an Emmys FYC screening, Indiewire reports. “I align the seasons I think, to me, like Kanye records,” Gambino explained during a panel session. “I feel like this is our ‘Graduation.’ This is probably our most accessible but also the realest — an honest version of it — and I feel like the most enjoyable, like the third album.”

“We were all on iMessage together and kind of talking about it, and I think people were really hungry to like beat ourselves, which is great,” Gambino continued.

Last season, we found the beloved trio of Earn, Paperboi and Darius encounter a handful of harrowing situations. But, perhaps with Gambino drawing inspiration from Ye's critically-acclaimed third studio album, the series' newest season will take on a lighter tone.

Ironically enough, this isn't the first time the Atlanta hitmaker has found Kanye to be his muse. Last month, during his guest appearance on Saturday Night Live Gambino poked fun at the Ye rapper for his Twitter antics with the hilarious skit A Kanye Place, a spoof of the thriller A Quiet Place.

While Atlanta recently concluded its previous season in May, there is still no word on when fans can expect it return to the small screen. Gambino understandably has quite a lot on his plate between his next album and reportedly being considered for the role of Willy Wonka for a new film that will serve as a prequel to Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
