The cleverly-named Little Rock, Ark. rapper Cuz Lightyear has made hard, street tales his calling card but opted to smooth things out for his latest video. "Recognize" is the latest song off of his 2017 album, What Up Cuz. The song and video also feature California's own G Perico.

The visual, which is co-directed by Nasser Boulaich and Aditya Pamidi, opens with shots of Cuz and G Perico standing together, mixed with scenes of the beach and palm trees. Three women appear on a night out in the city, while Cuz and G rapping, delivering the soundtrack to the evening. Seeing as how the song is about the two rappers sweet-talking a woman, it all makes sense.

Cuz Lightyear handles the hook, where he sings in Auto-Tune about introducing a girl to his lifestyle. "Recognize when a Crip nigga want you/Never mind, you're just doing what you're s'posed to" he croons, convincingly. "Ducking like a drive-by when I roll through/
Showing out, yeah we doing what we want to."

G Perico's verse is towards the end of the song, and he kills it. "I can show you how to fold this rag up right/Other niggas entertain but this my life" he spits. "I gotta be the realest, out of South Central/Check my credentials, ain't a loophole in it."

Earlier this year, Cuz dropped the video for the pulsing "Blue Dot," which he shot while snowed in. Meanwhile, G-Perico has been putting out features, rapping alongside Mozzy on Freddie Gibbs' "Colors" and joining Daz Dillinger for "Niggaz Know."
