Having earned over 200 million video streams and nearly 150 million track streams in three weeks, Childish Gambino's "This Is America" has officially been certified platinum.

The song earned platinum status on Thursday (May 31), thanks to over 1.3 million track equivalents being sold in the United States. The song has also sold over 2.6 million track equivalents worldwide. Along with it certification, the track continues to sit in the top three of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, holding the No. 2 spot after being dethroned by Drake's "Nice for What." The RIAA confirmed to XXL that the song has reached platinum status.

Thanks to the success of "This Is America," Childish Gambino's previous albums have also seen a surge in sales. Earlier this month, the Atlanta star's discography moved an extra 11,000 copies. Awaken My Love! moved back into the Billboard 200 chart, reaching No. 45, while Because the Internet and Camp reached No. 61 and No. 197, respectively.

Gambino does have another album in the works but the project may be his last record. Young Thug, who appears on "This Is America," confirmed Gambino's next album will be his last. "He told him to come to the [studio]. He said he has a song for me for his last album," Thugger told Spotify. "I tweeted one time, I was like, 'I bet I be on Gambino's last album.' I'm on his last album, it's crazy. He's really not making music after this."

The "Redbone" artist previously commented on his next project, saying, "There's nothing worse than like a third sequel, like a third movie and we're like, 'Again?' You know, I like it when something’s good and when it comes back there’s a reason to come back, there’s a reason to do that.”

"This Is America" becomes Childish Gambino's first platinum single since "Redbone," and his fourth platinum-selling record, along with "3005" and "Heartbeat."
