Kendrick Lamar Surprises Thanks to SZA

In one of the biggest moments of the day, SZA made sure to shout out the entirety of her TDE family before bringing out Kung Fu Kenny to perform “All the Stars,” their hit song off the Black Panther soundtrack, and “Doves in the Wind,” a crowd favorite from her recent album, CTRL.

After headlining Coachella last year, it’s nice to see Kendrick showing out for his fellow musicians this time around.

Trippie Redd Performs “Dark Knight Dummo”

In an unanticipated twist, Trippie Redd came onstage with SZA to perform hishit song “Dark Knight Dummo” sans Travis Scott. During the performance, Trippie and SZA jumped on a trampoline in front of the hyped crowd.

It’s no surprise SZA is a fan of the high-energy track, which has skyrocketed Trippie into the public eye in the last year.

Kyle Brings Out Chance The Rapper

One of the first hip-hop performances of the day was by former XXL Freshman Kyle, who showed off his signature upbeat personality during his afternoon performance and brought out Chance The Rapper to perform their song “Wanna Be Cool.” Then Chance helped out Kyle to perform his hit song “iSpy” to close out the set.

Afterwards, Kyle took crowd surfing to a new level when he stood atop an actual surfboard and rode through the crowd.

The song is rumored to be about his breakup with singer Selena Gomez. His performance of “Privilege” also saw him with glassy eyes as if he was fighting back tears.
