Gucci Mane is back in the studio with Metro Boomin, but the latest beat from the Atlanta producer may have cost Guwop $1 million.

According to an Instagram Story post from Gucci, he paid a hefty fee to get the producer out of retirement. "Gave @metroboomin a million cash to come out of retirement for 1 day," the rapper wrote. "This beat so hard, might be #evilgenius intro," he added.

It's not Gucci Mane's first time offering big money to another artist for new music. In March, the Mr. Davis rapper offered another $1 million if Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug would do a mixtape together. While Rich Homie never responded to the offer, Thugger scoffed at the idea, tweeting, "U no I'm the nigga got u together wen u came home kid... I'm strait 4 life."

As for Metro Boomin, the producer teased his retirement from hip-hop last week, making the reveal in an Instagram Story and wiping his Instagram account clean of any photos. The beatmaker later changed his Instagram bio to "Retired from rap" and then reportedly switched it to "Retired record producer/DJ." It's unknown whether or not Metro is taking his retirement seriously, but we certainly hope not.

Gucci is currently working on two new projects: the solo album The Evil Genius and the joint project with Migos and Lil Yachty, Glacier Boyz. Earlier this month, Guwop hinted at the project dropping on April 13 but the record has yet to release. The Evil Genius has also not received a release date yet but appears to have it's opening song set.
