Gun control laws have been a hot topic in recent weeks, but not everyone is on the same side of the fence on the matter. While some people agree that we are way past due for stricter gun laws, others think to do so would cripple the Constitution this country stands on. It's a sticky, nuanced situation to have, and there's definitely room for a healthy conversation on the matter. Vic Mensa wants to have that conversation with Killer Mike.

While Killer Mike is a staunch advocate for gun ownership, Vic Mensa thinks something needs to be done to ban or tighten the process of buying assault rifles. On Saturday (March 24), the Chicago rapper reached out to the Run The Jewels MC on Twitter. "To @KillerMike : YOU DONT NEED AN AR-15," he wrote. "As a black man & fellow gun owner I would like to have a debate with you about your stances on gun-control."

Mike was open to a talk with the young rapper. "We got the same publicist and u have my phone number. I ain’t dodge’n u. ‍♂️," he responded.

Both rappers recently made their stances clear publicly. Vic was in attendance at the March for Our Lives rally, a nationwide demonstration for the advocacy of tighter gun laws, in Washington D.C. on Saturday (March 24). He also performed his song "Now We Could Be Free" at the event.

Killer Mike recently sat down for an interview with the NRA, where he defended his right to bear arms.
