Before the 2018 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer, the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting has officially launched, which means hip-hop's rising newcomers are vying for a spot on the 2018 XXL Freshman cover.

OMB Peezy is looking to change the landscape of today’s hip-hop with his ferocious bars and impeccable storytelling skills. Born in the city of Mobile, Ala., and recording since the tender age of 12, OMB has been focused on perfecting his craft throughout the years by laying down the groundwork in the booth. The 21-year-old rapper caught the ears of the masses and his rap peers in late 2016 with the hard-hitting single “Lay Down.” That song's buzz led the Alabama native to sign deals last year with E-40’s Sick Wid It Records and 300 Entertainment. Since then, OMB has released the critically acclaimed EP Humble Beginnings and his collaborative mixtape with Sherwood Marty, Young & Reckless. Now he's locked in the studio recording and focusing on his next chess move.
