Chris Brown's recent tribute to pop singer Vanessa Carlton's 2001 hit "A Thousand Miles" backfired for Breezy when the singer called him out.

On Thursday (March 8), the Heartbreak on a Full Moon artist posted a clip of Carlton's song on Instagram and wrote, "LIT FOREVER." Shortly after his post, Carlton denounced Breezy, saying she felt compelled to since it was International Women's Day.

"Today Chris Brown posted my video. I am now being repeatedly tagged to his account," she wrote. “Being that today is International Women’s Day I feel compelled to draw a line. I support survivors not perpetrators of domestic violence. I do not want to be associated with an artist that has assaulted women on a day like today," she added, making reference to Brown's past with Rihanna.

Breezy didn't seem too bothered by Carlton's comments, reposting what she said on his Instagram page and adding, "@vanessacarlton I posted a song that was and still is a great song and the artist felt she was doing her duty as a WOMAN to continue to spread this kind of hatred today. I won't keep it up long. I just hope she knows she is loved and her song is great."

The singer later deleted both his posts and shared a clip from the film White Chicks, which features the song. "I LOVE THIS SONG," he wrote in his new post.

Brown recently dropped a new video for the song "Tempo." The track is featured on Breezy's 45-song album Heartbreak on a Full Moon and gets a video that is heavy on the choreography.
