Happy Birthday, YFN Lucci!
Today, Feb. 16, is the 27th birthday of Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci.
The rhymer, born Rayshawn Bennett in 1991, in Atlanta, is the son of Jamaican immigrants. He grew up listening to hip-hop, namely artists like Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, T.I., Fabolous and more. Once he was 16 years old, he decided to focus on rap, spurred by the support of fellow rapper Johnny Cinco.
Lucci released his first mixtape Wish Me Well in 2014, and followed it up with Wish Me Well 2 in 2016. This second tape is what launched Lucci into the mainstream conversation, as the project's Migos and Trouble-assisted "Key to the Streets" peaked at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The next year, 2017, was even better for YFN Lucci. He dropped his debut EP, Long Live Nut, and caught another hit song. The EP itself peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard 200, and it's first single, the PnB Rock-featuring "Everyday We Lit," peaked at No. 33 on the Hot 100, the biggest hit of Lucci's career so far.
Happy Birthday, YFN Lucci! More success is in store.
