Eminem Scores More Than 100 Million RIAA Song Awards
With more than 20 years in the game, Eminem continues to be one of music's most successful artists and now adds another achievement to his resume.
According to the Record Industry Association of America, the Revival artist has officially moved more than 100 million song units with 107.5 million song awards and three diamond songs. The increase in units puts Eminem just above singer Taylor Swift, who was 106.5 million units and leaves him below Rihanna with 121 million.
Eminem also becomes the first rapper to move into the 100 million units moved territory, although Drake and Kanye West may be on their way. Drizzy and Yeezy both have 55 million and 51.5 million units moved, respectively. Also on the list are Lil Wayne with 32 million, Wiz Khalifa with 29 million and Nicki Minaj with 28 million.
In related Em news, the "Walk on Water" rapper will be hitting the road the summer for a small tour in Europe. Kicking off on June 30 in Oslo, Norway, the nine-date trek will feature stops in Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands before wrapping up on July 14 with two shows in London.
Shady also recently released the Emil Nava-directed visuals for his Ed Sheeran-assisted single, "River." The video is part found footage, part documentary, and finds Eminem, his lover and her ex being interviewed at various points before eventually turning violent.
