The final episode of The Combat Jack Show is all set to be posted this week, and when it is, fans can expect an appearance from Just Blaze as he, the show-hosts and podcast regulars reflect on the legacy of the show's founder, Combat Jack (born Reggie Ossé), who died at age 53 after a bout with colon cancer this past December.

According to the folks at Billboard, the hosts for the famed podcast, which interviewed some of the biggest names in hip-hop during its seven-year run, weren't sure what to do with it after Ossé's death. They ultimately decided on recording a final episode, which they did last Thursday night (Jan. 11).

"It was closure," said Jonathan Mena, who produces the show. "It's what he would've wanted."

The final podcast, which Mena says will be a "throwback to that barbershop talk," will also be joined by show-hosts Dallas Penn and Premier Pete, social critic-journalist Jamilah Lemieux and Deric "D-Dot" Angelettie (also known as The Madd Rapper).

While this will be the upcoming episode of The Combat Jack Show will be its last, Loud Speakers Network will archive past episodes, as well as support spinoff shows like The Read and The Corner.

Ossé founded The Combat Jack Show over half a decade ago after maintaining a successful career as an attorney and an editor at The Source Magazine. Over time, the show grew to become one of the more popular rap-centric podcasts in the world.

He touched an incalculable number of lives during his career, and he is deeply missed by the hip-hop community.
