It looks like Earl Sweatshirt is ready to break his sabbatical and release new music in 2018.

Yesterday afternoon (Dec. 31), the Odd Future rapper hopped on Twitter to drop a line about the closing out of the year. "Aite 17 was a fucked up year I hope u learned a lot I hope u unlearned a lot, there's a lot to navigate out here," he tweeted.

Then for the news we've all been waiting for. "New chunes 2018, don't think i wasn't at work," he added.

It's been three years since Earl put out his last project, I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside. Since then, not ironically, he's mostly stayed out of the public eye, performing at festivals here and there. He dropped off tracks sparingly to keep his hungry fan base from snapping, but no album or mixtape to speak of.

Last February, he confirmed he was working on a new album. "Making the album for you rn," he plainly tweeted. Following the announcement, he debuted new music at the 2017 Day N Night Festival and also unleashed a record called "Hat Trick."

While he hasn't been putting out a lot of music, he hasn't been sitting idle. In October, he launched a new clothing line called DEATHWORLD, which he unveiled at the Camp Flog Gnaw festival. "I CAN'T LIE THIS HOW WE COMIN AT THE CARNIVAL," Sweatshirt wrote at the time on Twitter. "Come see and buy my new clothes they're good i have no reason to lie."

We can't wait to hear what he has in store.
