The legend of Action Bronson continues. Earlier this week, Movie Web revealed that the rapper, who's also made a name for himself starring in a few of his own Viceland TV shows, has joined the cast of director Martin Scorsese's forthcoming film, The Irishman.

The film is based on Charles Brandt-authored book, I Hear You Paint Fences, which follows the exploits of infamous mob hitman, Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran. It was Sheeran who led to the FBI to the supposed "burial site" of Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa, who was declared legally dead in 1982 after vanishing under mysterious circumstances in 1975.

Robert De Niro stars in the film's title role while Al Pacino plays the role of Hoffa. Joe Pesci, who's starred in other Scorsese movies in the past, plays Russell Bufalino. Bronson's role has yet to be disclosed, but he posted a sick picture with himself, De Niro and Scorsese on Instagram last week.

The Irishman is expected to be released in 2019, and was rumored to have a theater release so it could qualify for awards shows that following awards season. Neither Netflix nor Scorsese have confirmed anything about the release.

Bronson is now five months removed from dropping his latest album, Blue Chips 7000, and it's clear he's got big things in store for 2018. It looks like a major gangster movie will be one of them.
