Trae Tha Truth continues being a solid dude. Recently, the rapper and his Relief Gang teamed with Cigna and JC Penny, to give needy Houston families a $71,000 shopping spree—just in time for Christmas.

"'Bless Those In Need' $71,000 Plus Shopping Spree ... We Are One!!! #KingTruth @reliefgang @cignatogether @jcpenney @djmrrogers Those Smiles Were Priceless...🙏🏿🙏🏿 Happy Early Christmas," Trae wrote in the caption for one of his videos from the day of the spree.

In a video from the shopping spree, we see kids rocking "Trae Is My Hero" shirts and families happily posing for pics with the rapper. "I want to give thanks to Trae Tha Truth," says one woman in Relief Gang's Instagram video documenting the event. "He is honestly doing it from the bottom of his heart."

If you've been paying attention to Texas over the last few months, you know Houston and the surrounding areas have been in dire straits after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. In the midst of the crisis, the rapper hopped on a boat to help those affected by flooding. He also launched a hurricane relief fund to help those affected by Harvey.

Speaking with XXL at the time, Trae said there wasn't really sure there was an accurate way to predict the scale of the disaster.

"It's just at a point, I don't even know," he explained. "I wouldn't even put it on experts here, you have experts that do weather across the world, so, I mean, could they have notified us more and let us know how devastating it would be? Possibly. Or could it be a situation where, you know, nature has a mind of its own and they didn't know it was gonna be this catastrophic. So I don't know. I think at this point I'm just trying to figure out ways to get it together."
