It will be a "little while" before we get Post Malone's new album, Beerbongs & Bentleys.

The "Congratulations" rapper had initially said the project would drop on Dec. 1. "I'm gonna finish it this week," he told the H3 Podcast a couple weeks ago. "It will be out in December. December 1 at midnight." His label home later shot that timetable down, revealing to XXL the album does not have a solid release date.

Some fans didn't get the memo and were expecting the album yesterday. For this, Post is apologizing. "Hey guys, i know a lot of you guys were expecting a project today, it won't be dropping for a little while," he tweeted last night. "I'm sorry to let you down, but i need to make sure this album is perfect for you. I'm gonna keep working my ass off and make the best fucking album ever. i love ya."

The rapper, who recently released the brutal and bloody video for his hit single, "Rockstar," featuring 21 Savage, has found himself under fire recently for his perceived lack of love for hip-hop, following some controversial statements he made on the genre during an interview overseas. "A lot of people saying that I don't appreciate hip-hop, or I'm taking advantage of hip-hip. My last hip-hop album was fucking hip-hop," he responded to the backlash. "My next hip-hop album is fucking hip-hop. I love hip-hop. I make hip-hop. I wanna take this genre and stretch it so far that people who may not listen to it, listen to it, and wanna listen to the new artists and whatever's going on."

Not everyone is convinced. Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg recently called Post out, telling him to respect the culture or kick rocks.
