Over the last month or so, Hollywood has been turned upside down by a plethora of sexual harassment and rape allegations that have come out against a number of male actors and men of power. Now Russell Simmons is having to deny allegations of sexual misconduct.

The Los Angeles Times recently ran a lengthy article where former model Keri Khalighi named Simmons and film producer Brett Ratner in a sexual assault that she claims occurred in 1991.

In the report, Khalighi alleges she was taken out to dinner by the pair of industry heavyweights. After the dinner, she claims she went back to an apartment with Simmons and Ratner and was assaulted by the Def Jam co-founder, who tried to force her to have intercourse. “I fought it wildly,” she said in the article, claiming she eventually relented and performed oral sex on the music mogul while Ratner watched. She alleges Simmons again tried to penetrate her while she was taking a shower shortly after the initial incident.

Simmons has fired back at the allegations and denies any wrongdoing. “Everything that occurred between Keri and me occurred with her full consent and participation,” he responded to the claims. He says Khalighi's allegation “does a disservice to those who have been true victims of sexual harassment.” He added, “Let me be crystal clear and very direct. Abusing women in any way shape or form violates the very core of my being."

Khalighi claims she's run into Simmons on multiple occasions since then, and he's been remorseful about the incident - which he also denies.

In other Simmons-related news, Uncle Rush recently announced he will be making a movie about rap legend T La Rock.
