The feud between RZA and Azealia Banks is getting even more intense, and now RZA's team is issuing a statement regarding the female MC's derogatory comments against him. Banks recently called out the Wu-Tang Clan founder following his confirmation that Russell Crowe spit on her last October, and now RZA's publicist is defending their client.

If you recall, RZA previously admitted that Crowe did, in fact, spit at Azealia during an altercation while they were all at his Hollywood party last year. She responded in return by wishing him to "drop dead" on social media. Now, the veteran producer's team is making a statement, stressing his continued support of her despite the feud.

"The derogatory posts against my client RZA by Azealia Banks is unwarranted and beyond that — unbecoming," the publicist writes. "RZA, from the moment he met Ms. Banks, bet on her to win.  So much so that when others felt she would be too much trouble to work with on the film Love Beats Rhyme, he disregarded what had been said and looked beyond her well documented controversies moving forward with securing her as his lead."

His publicist continues on to explain some details of the Russell Crowe party, claiming that Banks was playing the race card.

"Her introduction to Russell Crowe at his private party resulted in Banks going on a salacious mission to disparage him and RZA," the publicist continued. Playing the race card and anything else she could."

RZA's publicist then responds again by stating that the rapper continues to support Banks, and would never put her in a position to be ridiculed or harmed.

"I represent RZA and found it necessary to state he would never have done what he has in support of Ms. Banks to put her in a position to be harmed, ridiculed, demeaned, or treated in an inhumane way.  And still, he continues to support her," they explain. As Ms. Banks reputation precedes her, RZA hasn’t and does not want to further embarrass Banks and stands by not revealing all of the details at this time.  In fact, after the incident, concerned about her welfare, RZA made sure she made it back to her hotel safely.

After referring to his recent interviews to back up his support of her, the statement then criticizes the Harlem native for her behavior, and remarks that RZA is taking the high road regardless.

"Regardless of any rumored conditions she may have, I feel there is no excuse for this type of behavior, therefore I feel obligated to let the record show that RZA has tried his best to support Ms. Banks," the publicist concludes. "Taking the high road is not an easy task when someone constantly slanders you, but he has."

Hopefully RZA and Azealia can find a way to work out of their differences in this unfortunate matter.
