E-40 is a certified West Coast legend, so it's only right he gets treated like one. His rising Sick Wid It artist Nef The Pharaoh made sure of it when he got a tattoo of the Bay Area hero plastered onto his leg. He offered up his reasoning for the new ink in an Instagram post.

"I didn’t wanna wait till my OG was dead & gone to show him I appreciate everything he’s done 4 me & mines 💪🏾," Nef wrote in the caption for the pic of his new tatt. "[You've] opened doors and allowed me to bring my day ones right threw them muthafuckas ✅ & w/ that bein said...I’m @sickwiditrecords till I’m 6 feet under, love you @e40 🙏🏾 (s/o @youngblood_wst for the new leg tat, we still ain’t finished tho)."

Now, we've seen tattoos of Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur, but E-40 tats have never been nearly as en vogue. While the rapper hasn't reached the commercial heights of those two MC's, he's contributed to hip-hop in numerous ways, including the sound of Bay Area rap and an incalculable amount of slang words. With this in mind, it's awesome to see the rap icon getting his flowers while he can still smell them.

Nef got an E-40 tattoo, but he's probably done more to help his label boss' legacy by dropping dope projects. Earlier this year, he dropped The Chang Project and continued building the buzz he's been cultivating for years now, keeping Sick Wid It on the tongues of rap fans from all over.
