Hip-hop is pulling together for Puerto Rico. The island was recently hit hard by Hurricane Maria, leaving a country-wide power outage and a crippled infrastructure in its wake. Just like they did for Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma in the U.S., members of the rap community are lending a helping hand.

Yesterday (Sept. 30), rappers like Jadakiss, Remy Ma, Bodega Bamz, Papoose, Mack Wilds, Rapsody, Casanova and more all volunteered to help with relief.

They all met at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan, N.Y., and along with dozens of other volunteers helped box items such as diapers, canned foods, rice, flashlights and bottled water to be shipped to the island. The devastation has hit close to home for some MCs. "My sister-in-law was stuck over in San Juan until yesterday," The LOX member, Jadakiss told Spectrum News 1. "She was able to get out of there on a Delta flight. That's just one of many. So, until everybody is good we have to keep going, keep working."

Remy also touched on the situation. "I'm definitely a Bronx native so I have plenty of family members and friends that have family in Puerto Rico, that come from Puerto Rico, and it's bad. It's really bad," she told ABC7.

Bamz was on hand holding it down for his native land. The NYC rapper posted a video of himself in the place to be putting in work for his people. "First thing first with all disrespect fuck Donald Trump," he captioned the clip. "With that being said, God bless my mother land. It's a beautiful thing to see all different races, man, woman, old, young, short & tall, rich & poor all helping and working together."

Others are helping out Puerto Rico in their own way, including Pitbull, Fat Joe and Princess Nokia.
