Fresh off of the release of The Autobiography of Gucci Mane, Gucci Mane is ready to drop his next book and also has plans for a screenplay.

In an interview with Vulture, the rapper discussed how the book came about and revealed he originally wanted to write a screenplay. "I always thought about writing a book," he said. "I actually wanted to write a screenplay."

According to the Mr. Davis rapper, during his time in prison, director Harmony Korine would send him books and encourage him to create a screenplay. But it was Gucci's engineer who suggested he write a book.

"I was like, OK, let me try it," he said. "Then one day, I wrote 30 pages. Then Neil [Martinez-Belkin, co-author of the book] wrote me in prison, and I remembered him from interviewing me for XXL. He told me that I should write a book and left his number."

Gucci says he then sent Martinez-Belkin 30 to 40 pages he had a written and received rave reviews. "That’s how it came about. I went so far down that I couldn’t do anything but go up," he added. "I couldn’t do a lot but I had time to write, so why not do it?"

While the rapper doesn't have a timetable for his next book, he said he would "100 percent" write another. "And I'm definitely going to write that screenplay," he shared.

In related Gucci Mane news, the rapper's recent book signing event at Barnes & Noble in New York City was interrupted by anti-fur activists. While Gucci was taking photos with fans, a member of New York's Animal Defenders organization approached him and pulled out a shirt that read "Animal Abuser." The rapper kept his cool as security guards escorted the man out.
