Just over a month ago, Eminem announced his return to the world of film with Bodied, a new film that uses battle rap to contextualize race relations in America. On Thursday (Sept.  7), the film premiered at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.

Produced by battle rap legend and current enthusiast Slim Shady and helmed by music video director Joseph Kahn, the film's cast includes the likes of battle rap luminaries like Loaded Lux, Dizaster, Dumbfoundead, and Hollow Da Don, and actors such as Anthony Michael Hall, Debra Wilson, Charlamagne Tha God, Alter Perez, Rory Uphold, Jackie Long, Callum Worthy and Shoniqua Shanda.

On the day of the premiere, Em, who might just have a new album out this fall, stoked the hype surrounding the film with a few social media posts. "Someone is going to get Bodied tonight at TIFF. Excited for the premiere of our flick with @josephkahn, here's the poster!" Em wrote in the caption for an Instagram post featuring a Bodied poster.

Kahn and former battle rap champion, current screenwriter Alex “Kid Twist” Larsen, developed the story for the flick, which, based on the trailer we saw a month ago, looks pretty hilarious.

In the trailer, we see two young White men discussing the world of rap before we see another one getting destroyed in a one-on-one battle. He doesn't get off a line in the clip we saw, but maybe he fares better in the movie.
