The controlled madness of the Rolling Loud Festival will cross more than a few borders in late 2017 and beyond. On Tuesday, Aug. 8, the festival co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler revealed their star-studded annual music fest will be producing off-shoots of their hip-hop Disney World in California (Bay Area and Southern California), China, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

Cherif says the success of the festival has led to their expansion plans. "Rolling Loud is the #1 hip-hop festival in the world. After selling out three consecutive years in a row in Miami, it's time to take the Rolling Loud experience on the road," he says. "Rap music is the most popular and fastest growing genre of music, and the world deserves to experience curated lineups of its champions."

The Bay Area iteration of the Rolling Loud Festival will take place Oct. 21-22, while the Southern California version will pop off between Dec. 16-17. China and Japan will host their own variations of the Rolling Loud Festival on unspecified dates in 2018, while the festival will hit Miami, which is, of course, its birthplace, in May 2018.

"Each show will feature a different assortment of hip-hop's biggest superstars as well as underground heavyweights," said Zingler. "Miami will remain as our home and premier event as we establish the Rolling Loud brand around the world."

The 2017 Rolling Loud Festival featured a who's who of rap stars, including Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Future, Gucci Mane, Denzel Curry, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug and more. With its varied performers and electric atmosphere, the Rolling Loud Festival is always a big deal, and now it's going international.

The lineups for the Bay Area and Southern California iterations of the Rolling Loud Festival will be unveiled shortly. Be sure to check out our recap of the 2017 Rolling Loud Festival, which was pretty much heaven on earth for a rap fan.
