Kota the Friend Drops ‘Paloma Beach’
Brooklyn’s Kota the Friend releases his newest EP Paloma Beach via FLTBYS and it's available to all digital music retailers and streaming services. The 12-track EP features Asher Roth and Chris Scholar with production from Kota himself, Origami and Nimbus Beats, among others. The 23-year-old rapper previously released videos for songs like “Like Water” and “Lawn Chair.”
Paloma Beach's central theme discusses depression, feelings of self worth and 23-year-old guilt. Mental health is often stigmatized in the black community, but Kota the Friend navigates his way through darkness to find answers for himself and his listeners.
"My goal in hip-hop is to tour internationally and play at Barclay’s and make music that resonates with all different types of people, no matter where you come from," he said. "I just want to be able to make a living off of making music that allows me to reach people, live off the grid and take care of my family."
