It looks like Summertime Shootout 3, the sequel to both Fabolous' Summertime Shootout and Summertime Shootout 2, is on the way. Fab revealed as much in a recent Instagram post teasing a new collab between himself, Velous and Chris Brown.

"cooked up something with @Velous & @ChrisBrownOfficial.... #FLIPMODE Dropping EVERYWHERE on Friday. #SummertimeShootout3OnTheWay," Fab wrote in the caption for the post, which includes some cover art for a remix of Velous' "Flipmode." The song's supposed to drop this Friday (Sept. 1).

Fab's post appears to imply that "Flipmode" will be the first single from the latest installment of his Summertime Shootout series. However, he didn't reveal a release date for the project.

If Summertime Shootout 3 is anything like the previous entries in Fab's mixtape series, it should be rife with clever lyrics. If he had it his way, he might differentiate it by getting some collabs with Eminem and Nas on the project. Speaking with XXL about the death of Prodigy back in June, the Brooklyn stalwart explained that rapping on the same track as those two rap gods would be a dream come true.

"I think it would be to collaborate with Eminem and maybe Nas," he said. "Not the same song, but I would love to collaborate with them. Those are the only two people right now. I’ve pretty much collaborated with almost everybody except for a lot of the new generation. But those are just my dream collabs. Their lyricism and growing up with their music as well…I’m not even a forcer. I’ve had this thought for years, but if I don’t have the right song, I’ll have to wait until the time comes. I gotta hurry up though."
