This past Sunday (June 11) marked the 10th anniversary of Stack Bundles' untimely death. It also came with the announcement of a forthcoming posthumous album from the late Riot Squad MC.

Using his Instagram account, Riot Squad member Bynoe revealed that the world can expect a new Stack Bundles album this year. The project, titled The Rock's Star, will be released through Empire. The first single is coming later this month

"Ten years ago we lost a rising star in the Hip Hop world - Rayquon Elliott AKA Stack Bundles," wrote Bynoe in the caption for the post. "On this 10th Anniversary we are please to announce that a album will be release in October of 2017 distributed by Empire. Title The Rock's Star The album will feature never released tracks from Stack and various artists. The album will take you threw the life and time of Stack young career from his early days with the Queens Rap Group The Grits to his time in Chicago with 1st /15th Lupe Fiasco ,Tha Riot Squad, DJ Clue 's Desert Storm and Jim Jones' Byrd Gang. The first single to the album is set to be released later this month. Thank you for all the fans support and patience more info in the coming days."

Stack Bundles was a rising star when he was shot and killed execution style in his Far Rockaway, N.Y. home 10 years ago. Before his death, he'd made countless records as a member of Jim Jones' Byrdgang collective with Max B. Before that, he'd been the first artist signed to Lupe Fiasco's record label, 1st and 15th Entertainment.

It's unclear whether or not his song "What U Want Me To Do”—which was released on the rapper's birthday last year—will be on the new album. There's no word on when, exactly, The Rock's Star will drop, but we hope to know more soon.
