No I.D. Named Executive Vice President of Capitol Music Group
No I.D. is moving up in the executive seats, as the veteran producer has been named the executive vice president of Capitol Music Group. The label unveiled the super producer's new role this week (June 6), revealing he will be responsible for A&R and production at Capitol.
According to Billboard, the musician, whose real name is Dion Wilson, will also work with senior management to assist on the creative direction of Capitol's imprint labels. The site reports that No I.D. will be reporting directly to president of Capitol Music Group, Ashley Newton.
As many know, the producer, who has worked with tons of names from Common and Kanye West to Logic, also has his own imprint, ARTium Records, on Def Jam. He will still oversee the imprint during his time in his new position at Capitol.
I.D. also released a statement regarding his new move, sharing his eagerness to start his new responsibilities.
"I look forward to working with the entire Capitol team to build on the cultural impact of our music and further expand into the global markets. There is a legacy of great artists and important records at Capitol, and I look forward to helping create more history and building upon the company's great brand," No I.D. said.
Newton also spoke on Wilson joining the label as the new VP, sharing her thoughts on his talents and contributions to music.
"Dion's vast experience and esteemed stature as both a creative executive and highly influential producer are crucial to our continuing commitment to urban music and artists. I'm absolutely thrilled that he has joined as a key member of the CMG family," Newton stated.
Congratulations to No I.D. on his new executive position. We can't wait to see how he helps to grow the CMG label as vice president.
