Over the last several years, T.I.'s become one of hip-hop's more outspoken activists, so it's only right he appreciates the work of those who came before him. This past weekend, the Grand Hustle boss did just that, using an Instagram post to praise activist Jane Elliott, whom he recently met with in Chicago.

In a post that included a photo of himself posing with Elliott, Tip wrote, "Got a chance to spend the day with my #WCW😍JaneElliot yesterday in Chicago. She's truly a brilliant, amazing, kick-ass person. I've never met anyone who's given the kind of brutally honest, rational, logical, intellectual insight on racism & race relations (based on FACT) as she did. She's a true gem. A real life American HERO!!! If you don't know about her you should look her up & GET FAMILIAR!!! #janeelliotexperiment #UsOrElse."

Of course, Tip definitely has a point. Having developed a variety of exercises to teach school children about racism, Elliott is credited for helping create diversity training as we know it today. She began her career as a teacher, but as the years have passed, she's taken on the role of being a full-time activist, advocating for members of the LGBT community as well as helping to combat racial inequality for at least the last 49 years. Salute to her.
