Rich Homie Quan ran into some trouble with the law over the weekend, getting arrested on his way to a performance in Georgia.

The Atlanta rapper and his crew were traveling to a show date at Club Liquids in Wadley, Ga. on Sat., May 27, when they ran into a police checkpoint, according to TMZ. Police searched the van they were riding in and reportedly discovered a firearm and drugs. RHQ and five other men were arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen gun and drugs. Quan was taken to Jefferson County jail. It is unclear if he has been charged with a crime.

Quan is trying to breathe new life into his career after signing a deal with Motown Records in February. He dropped the mixtape, Back to the Basics, in April.

"[It's] definitely a new chapter," he recently told XXL. "I wouldn’t say a reinvention but I’ve re-centered myself. You can just tell how I’ve grown up. I’ve gotten older, watching what I say because I know the previous years I’ve gotten in trouble. And I know everybody’s listening now so with everybody listening, I just want to make sure I can motivate you. This music, my music is for motivational purposes. I’m trying to encourage you to get up and be somebody, do something. I’m not saying it gotta be music, but just something."

The "Type of Way" rapper is prepping the release of his debut album, Rich as in Spirit, which is slated to drop in July.
