KRS-One is not one to shy away from controversy and his latest record might fall straight into that category. The veteran rapper recently released a new track called "Hip Hop Speaks From Heaven," which comes off of his new solo album The World Is Mind, and he can be heard paying tribute to hip-hop's fallen stars.

The song dropped earlier this week and finds KRS-One listing off the names of rap's late MC's before paying homage to their legacies over the years. The Bronx native reaches the legacy of the Beastie Boys, but calls out the name of Ad-Rock instead of the group's late member MCA, who passed away from cancer in 2012.

"Like a late fog in the mist/I see King Ad-Rock and rest in peace Nate Dogg/Their names and their natures will last, like Chris Lighty and my man Bill Blass/When it comes to hip-hop, here’s the lesson/Start praising your own people, hip-hop speaks from heaven," the MC spits around the 3:15 mark.

It's almost surely an honest mistake on the legendary MC's part, and fortunately for any worried fans, Ad-Rock is still alive and well, but it might confuse listeners. It is a bit odd that none of those who went through the album before its release, including engineers, seemed to catch the lyric and let the veteran rapper know.
