New Orleans all stars Master P, his son Romeo, Curren$y and Juvenile and many more are linking up, but not in the way you might think. On June 29, rappers and entertainers alike will be taking part in the Team Hope NOLA Celebrity Basketball Game at the Xavier University Convocation Center in New Orleans, the same weekend as the 2017 Essence Festival, which is also taking place in the city.

Proceeds for the game will benefit a scholarship fund for the youth of New Orleans, which is one of the goals of Team Hope NOLA, an organization the southern rap legend developed to help the youth of his city.

The forthcoming celebrity game will also see the likes of Trey Songz, Silkk The
Shocker, Ray J, Terrence J, Trombone Shorty, Doug E. Fresh, Mystical, Anthony Mackie, Raymond Brothers, Kidd Kidd, Scrappy, Jacoby Jones, Yung Joc, and former NBA ballers Robert Pack, Caron Butler and Ben Gordon take the court. Needless to say, it should be an entertaining competition.

According to Master P, it's much more than that. "This is more than a basketball game, this is for the community and I'm happy we can do it in my hometown," the No Limit head honcho tells XXL of the forthcoming  event.
