Funkmaster Flex recently went on Instagram Live and spoke candidly about the night Tupac was shot in the leg at Quad Studios on Nov. 30, 1994. According to Flex, the West coast legend actually shot himself that evening, and was not reportedly shot by enemies, as Makaveli notoriously alluded to later on. Biggie and Puff were in the same building that night, and the shooting would go on to be a key factor in the beginning of the East coast/West coast beef.

"You Pac fans always talking that talk," Flex says in the video below. "Cheddar Bob. Came in there, popped himself in the leg. Popped himself first. That's what happened."

After laughing, Flex continues, "He knew who approached him. He had a steel on him, 'cause he knew he had a issue out there, and when get got there, they was just gonna take his jewelry. They didn't even touch him. He panicked, pulled out the steel, shot himself."

The Hot 97 veteran has gotten in hot water before after expressing his feelings on Tupac, as he once dissed the late rapper onstage by stating he "don't fuck with Pac" and "I don't suck 2Pac's dick." After The Outlawz released their "Warning Shots" diss track aimed at Flex, the host took to his radio show to clarify his comments.

“Yeah, maybe I should have did it like that or said it there and I didn’t clarify myself when it happened. My bad to his fans who feel like I’m kicking somebody when they’re not here. But when he was here," Flex told listeners at the time. "‘Pac was pushing out all that negative energy on television and in magazines. I know everybody loves the man and they should love him. But, I don’t have to love him like that. I don’t have to love ‘Pac like that. I don’t. This is just the way I feel."

What Flex is saying isn't a new theory, either. For years, some have said 'Pac shot himself in Quad that night. See what the DJ has to say below, with Lil Cease chiming in as well. After the video got picked up online, Cease backed away from Flex with a message via Instagram. Read that below as well.
