Usually, the phrase "traffic jam" is associated with annoyance and heartbreaking inconvenience, but the good folks at Spotify and All Def Digital are doing their best to change that with their new series.

Traffic Jams pairs talented musicians in the backseat of an SUV and presents them with a seemingly impossible task: produce a certified banger by the time their done navigating perilous L.A. traffic. Here's the twist; the artists have to be ready to perform their new track in front of a live audience once they get to their destination.

Thus far, the show has seen T-Pain collab with super-producer Southside, Joey Bada$$ team with Cardo and D.R.A.M. connect with Melo X to create impromptu bangers. The next few weeks should be just as crazy. For Spotify and All Def Digital, the super-inventive new series is a way to give fans a window into the collaboration practices of rappers and producers alike.

“Our audience loves hip hop and with Traffic Jams we want to give them a deeper understanding of the artists and the creative process behind the music," says Tom Calderone, Global Head of Spotify Studios. "Working with the All Def Digital team, we were able to produce a best in class hip hop series that tells stories that have never been told before and takes the musical performance format to another level."

Fans can see the "musical performance format get taken to another level" every Tuesday on Spotify. Yesterday (May 2), Jidenna worked alongside Sonny Digital to produce a new banger within a somewhat lengthy car ride's time. The following weeks will see MadeinTYO team with AraabMusik (May 9), Dae Dae and Marvel Alexander (May 16) and E-40 and Willie B (May 23).
