Cipha Sounds is working hard to take his combination of hip-hop culture and comedy to the next level, and now he's signed a deal to host a major television series. TruTV announces that the Roc Nation DJ and personality will host Laff Mobb's Laff Tracks, a new comedy series on the network.

According to reports, the 12-episode series hosted by the former Hot 97 personality is set to premiere in fall of 2017 and is being launched as part of the network's short form comedy series Rachel Dratch’s Late Night Snack. The show's premise is based around the next generation of comedians who bring their hilarious personal stories to life with a "playful reinvention of standup" that is sure to keep viewers laughing and endlessly entertained.

The show is reportedly being produced by American Chainsaws Entertainment with Royal Malloy, Colt Straub, Duke Straub and Mark Therrien serving as executive producers. As far as executive producers, the show has signed on Laff Mobb Entertainment with Bob Sumner, Arthur Spivak, Carlos Koustas and Jamal Dedeaux.

This is racking up to be a big year for Cipha, who is already hosting a new improv series on Tidal that debuted on the streaming service's platform last month. The show is titled Hip Hop Improv with Cipha Sounds and it features some of our favorite artists in hip-hop, who tell true stories about themselves using improv techniques.

Stay tuned for more updates on the new comedy series with Cipha Sounds coming to truTV.
