Childish Gambino is taking full advantage of the down time he takes from his musical career, as he's earning tons of checks for his work in television. The longtime television writer earned himself a Golden Globe for his work on his original FX series Atlanta this past year, and now their sibling network FXX is signing him on for another major series.

According to Variety, the 33-year-old star is teaming up with his brother Stephen Glover to serve as the showrunners, executive producers and writers of a new animated series based on Marvel's Deadpool comic. While the show does not currently have an official title, nor have any voice actors signed on yet, it was ordered by the network for 10 episodes for the first season with a slated debut date in 2018.

The Glover brothers will be the lead producers on the series, but will be joined by Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory on the executive producer side, along with production by Marvel Television in association with FX Productions and ABC Signature Studios for FXX.

“How much more fun could this be? Deadpool, Donald and FX – the perfect fit for the Merc with the Mouth. We’re thrilled that our relationship with FX that started with ‘Legion’ continues with what is sure to be a groundbreaking show in adult animation," said Loeb in a statement.

With a second season of Atlanta on the way, his Star Wars offshoot movie Han Solo undergoing shooting in London as we speak, and now a Deadpool animated series, Gambino will certainly have his hands tied with his television career this year. He's also slated to play Simba in the upcoming Lion King remake, and is set to star in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming movie as well.
