Tupac’s Powamekka Cafe will become a reality in New York. The estate of Tupac and restaurant Sweet Chick have teamed up to turn the “Hit ‘Em Up” rapper’s restaurant concept into the real deal.

“Tupac’s creative vision was limitless,” Estate of Tupac Shakur trustee Tom Whalley said. “He was constantly working on ideas and plans that reached far beyond music and film. One of the things he was extremely passionate about was opening a restaurant; he even sketched out plans and a concept for a menu. We are proud to bring Tupac’s Powamekka Café to life.”

The Powamekka Cafe is set to run from April 7-9 at Sweet Chick, which is backed by Nas and restaurateur John Seymour. The restaurant will feature personal photos from Tupac’s archive, music memorabilia and menu items from his original concept such as his cousin Jamala’s fried chicken wings.

“Sweet Chick is about community and culture at its core, and so was Tupac,” John Seymour said. “As a restaurant, we embody everything he represents — music, style, food, and neighborhood. We are honored to be hosting the Powamekka Café pop-up at Sweet Chick, and help bring his vision to life with the dishes that he loved.”

Tupac’s Powamekka Cafe was previously brought to life at a Take 3 Burgers location in Fresno’s Fulton Mall. The restaurant only existed for one day in September 2016, so the New York rendition will provide more fans with an opportunity to experience Tupac’s vision. Patrons can reserve a seat at the restaurant, which is located at 178 Ludlow Street in New York’s Lower East Side.
