Kendrick Lamar upset some fans by not releasing his new album on Friday (April 7). The Compton MC’s “Y'all got ‘til April the 7th to get your shit together” line from “The Heart Part 4” made many onlookers think it was the LP’s release date. Instead, Kendrick announced that his project would drop on April 14.

Since fans were accusing Kendrick and TDE of misleading them, the label's CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith decided to respond to the backlash on Twitter. Tiffith singled out a few tweets from fans to relay his message.

“Show me where i said it was dropping on the 7th and i will give you and all my followers 10k,” he told one fan who referenced the message about April 7.

Tiffith reiterated that no one from TDE ever said an album would be released on April 7. He was also surprised so many people expected the LP to drop on Friday.

“Is really that easy to mislead u by saying get your shit together by the 7th,” he told another fan.

Even though Tiffith dealt with a lot of angry people, he still expressed his appreciation for their support. The TDE co-founder recognized that fans were simply passionate about the music.

“REAL SHIT, i apprec8 u all 4 always supportin TDE,” he wrote. “it wud b a major prob if y'all wasnt on my head about our music. i wud be sad as fuck lol.”

Kendrick’s album is due out next week, but details about the project are still scarce. While the tracklist has not been revealed, credits for the 14-track LP have been made public. Producers on the LP include Alchemist, Cardo, DJ Dahi, Terrace Martin, Sounwave and more.
