Rapper Majesty Da Rebel Gets Into Confrontation With ABC Reporter on Live TV to Promote His New Album

The Internet makes the world a smaller place, but gaining exposure for your new mixtape is still no easy feat, and MCs everywhere are willing to take drastic measures to make it into the rap game. Majesty Da Rebel is one of those desperate rappers.

This past weekend, Majesty, real name Key Jonta Foster, interrupted ABC-7's CeFaan Kim's report on a rape case in order to plug his new video and mixtape. Such a move is definitely an unconventional one, but that didn't stop Majesty from taking his shot.

In the video, we see Kim giving his report when Majesty, wearing a Jason hockey mask, enters the picture. Majesty is seven or eight words into his impromptu mixtape promotion when he wraps his arm around the surprised reporter, who almost immediately pushes him off. That's when Kim's camera man takes his camera lens away from Kim and Majesty, and Majesty demands for him to resume filming.

From there we can hear a confrontation unfolding, and a few moments later, we see Majesty pushing Kim onto the ground. That's where the video ends, but the story isn't over.

Understandably upset, Kim uploaded a video of the confrontation onto his Twitter account and filed a police report against Majesty, and now the boys in blue want to talk to the rapper. Majesty isn't afraid of what happens next, though and he says his actions only led to this outcome because he's Black.

“The reason I did it was because I knew I’d get negative feedback from it,” Majesty explained to the New York Post. “I can always flip that. I saw an opportunity and took the opportunity to promote my video and mixtape. From the beginning, it was friendly—I put my arm around him, and then he pushed me, grabbed me.”

“I’m not scared to deal with the consequences,” the rapper explained to the Post. “They’ll probably interrogate me, ask me what happened. White guys bomb video reporters all the time. A black man tries to get air time and then gets beat up by the reporter. I’m gonna do what I gotta do and seize an opportunity.”
