The 2017 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer and now the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th Spot voting is happening now, so each of the potential Freshman are letting you know why they should appear on the 2017 XXL Freshman cover.

Kent Jones, a multi-talented musician out of Tallahassee, Fla., is one of the candidates for this year's XXL Freshman class, with a strong case as to why he should be on the cover. Receiving a platinum plaque in 2016 for his debut single "Don't Mind," which peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Kent has made a name for himself in a short amount of time, with plenty more to come. With two buzz-worthy mixtapes released (Tours and Too Much Too Soon) and a feature on the NBA 2K16 soundtrack, 2017 is shaping up to be another huge year for the 23-year-old We The Best/Epic Records artist.
