The 2017 XXL Freshman class will be revealed this summer and now the Freshman hopefuls are here to show and prove why they deserve a spot in this year’s class. The 10th spot voting is happening now, so each of the potential Freshman are letting you know why they should appear on the 2017 XXL Freshman cover.

J.I.D is an exciting new artist from east Atlanta who recently signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville Records. The rapper released his Dicaprio EP in 2015, which helped spread his name to a larger audience. In 2016, along with the Spillage Village crew (which is comprised of J.I.D, EarthGang, Jordxn Bryant and Hollywood JB), the budding upstart dropped Bears Like This Too Much, a fantastic 12-track LP. Earlier this month, J.I.D released his debut album, The Never StoryRead his interview for The Break here.
