French Montana is sending love to fellow Muslim MC Kevin Gates, after it was reported that the Baton Rouge rapper was having his release date postponed.

French posted the online kite on Instagram, revealing that his relationship with Gates goes back a ways. "One time for my Muslim brother," he started. "Me and chinx (rest in peace🙏) was the first dudes to do a feat With this brother. Before People even knew who he was 2011 I hate watching the system and all the hate killing us and our brother and killing the people that love us #freegates #freemax #foreverchinx #freekodac #freepenthouse," he added.

As previously reported, The Bread Winners Association don was initially sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, after he was convicted of kicking a female fan during a show at a nightclub in Florida.

He was set to be released from Polk County Jail earlier this week, but is being held on charges from another state. According to reports, Gates has outstanding warrants in Illinois that include “several gun charges from 2013 in Illinois, including aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.”

He is set to be extradited to Cook County, where the charges derive.

This is a setback for the rapper, whose trajectory was definitely going upward after his debut album Islah went platinum.
