In addition to dropping "NYC" with Jadakiss, Faith Evans releases another cut from her joint album with The Notorious B.I.G., The King & I, this time enlisting Snoop Dogg's help on "When We Party." The track flips Biggie's classic "Going Back to Cali," and shows the fallen rapper trading verses with Snoop, each honoring the west coast and its finer attributes.

The track as well represents a union of two artists on opposite ends of the costal beef that dominated the 90s. In a 2013 interview with Sway in the Morning, Snoop said of his relationship with the Bad Boy rapper, “Biggie was my homeboy. He was a real, real friend of mine.” Biggie as well mentioned Snoop in the opening lines of "Somebody's Gotta Die."

On "When We Party," Snoop raps, "The maze is a daze, I blaze, I will amaze/Smokin’ while you locin’ with some California haze/Me and Big what it is, get it in sippin' gin/With the hen in the alley way/Bangin' the Cali way." It's a fun party track and a nice compliment to the grittier sound of "NYC."

In May of last year, Faith mentioned that she was in the finishing stages of the album, hinting at a Valentine's Day release and the two-piece single drop may be further indication that that remains in the case. In that event, The King & I would be out in less than two weeks time, Valentine's Day, as always, on Feb. 14.
