ScHoolboy Q dropped his latest LP, Blank Face, to rave reviews in July 2016. Now, in a new interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the TDE rapper says he's halfway done with his next project.

Fans will be pleased to know the Black Hippy MC is already far into his new body of work. "I just left the studio like 3 hours ago," ScHoolboy tells Lowe. "I'm halfway done with it. I never been this inspired that fast."

The 30-year-old artist also sheds some light on the concept of his forthcoming album. "It's moreso my life after I made it to the point of ScHoolboy Q," he says. "I gave you me, but I never gave you the other side of me—the father, the dude that’s actually happy, the dude that doesn’t be in the hood just hanging out. The dude that’s trying to put his homies in position now."

He continues, "I’m not a deadbeat father anymore. I'm in my daughter's life. She lives with me, actively. I pick her up, take her to school every morning. It's just a whole different Q."

Another interesting tidbit from the interview is when ScHoolboy reveals that he has "a bunch more new records" with Anderson .Paak. No word on when those songs are slated to release, but based on their previous records "Am I Wrong" and "Blank Face," the new collaborations are sure to be fire.

In other ScHoolboy Q-related news, you can watch him have some fun with Joey Bada$$ as the two face off in a game of trampoline dodgeball. Listen to the full, 15-minute interview below courtesy of Apple Music.
