Hip-hop has experienced another tragic loss as DinnerWithJohn, Saba's cousin and a member of the Pivot Gang, passed away yesterday (Feb. 9). DinnerWithJohn, whose real name was Walter Long Jr., was fatally stabbed near the Metra tracks in Chicago's River West neighborhood, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Chicago Police said the 24-year-old rapper, who previously went by the moniker John Walt, got into an altercation with an unidentified man. Witnesses said DinnerWithJohn and his assailant were involved in a fistfight before a sharp object was pulled out around 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, according to ABC 7.

DinnerWithJohn suffered a laceration to his upper left torso and was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:52 p.m. Detectives questioned a person of interest on Wednesday night.

Much of the Chicago hip-hop scene has responded to the tragedy on social media, expressing their sadness over the loss. Saba was understandably heartbroken about the death.

"Bruh I can't do this shit," he wrote on Twitter.

Chicago rap legend Twista also sent out a tweet about DinnerWithJohn's passing. Twista has been a big supporter of Saba and the Pivot Gang.

"Sad to hear @dinnerwithjohn passed away," Twista wrote. "Condolences to his family, friends and the Pivot Gang. Your music will live forever."
