Best Songs of the Week Featuring Kodak Black, Blac Youngsta and More

XXL is back with another collection of the week's best tracks. Our latest selections have more of a laid-back vibe, though one cut is a pretty intense diss.

Kicking things off is Waka Flocka's Gucci Mane diss track "Was My Dawg." The Atlanta rhymer takes aim at his former mentor, claiming that Guwop turned his back on family when he went to jail.

"Always yelling Brick Squad, always talking fam first/When yo ass got locked up, you turned on the fam first/Always taking fucking credit, never put in no work/Used my name for leverage, before they front you, they gon' call first/Big dawg Flocka really gripping on the chopper/Had a young boy hit your head for a plate of shrimp and lobster," Waka raps.

Kodak Black hasn't always been the most respectful person when it comes to legends, but the young rapper clearly knows his history. The Florida native secured a spot on this week's list with his rendition of LL Cool J's classic "I Need Love."

SiR dropped the first Top Dawg Ent. release of 2017 today (Feb. 10) with his Her Too EP. The opening track "New LA" was so good that it had to be among our best song picks. SiR and Anderson .Paak give the record a soulful flavor, but it's King Mez who steals the show with his closing verse.

"Speaking of the other broads that running behind cars/And brothers who mothers is hoping soon they gon' be stars/These chickens want Grey Poupon and tar tars/Like that shit make you different/You was who you was but you got here, word to Jay/I'm just a little Carolina nigga who don't play/They only hard on the top little crème brulee/So please dog don't pretend today, we'll win today," Mez raps.

Blac Youngsta and Lil Yachty do not have the best reputation with hip-hop traditionalists. Despite that sentiment, the two teamed up with Mike WiLL Made-It for a record called "Hip Hopper" that is reminiscent of old school rap. The song could be an olive branch to hip-hop heads or a bit of antagonistic trolling.

Closing things out this week is Smino's new record "Anita." The smooth track is an ode to black women that he was inspired to create after seeing the movie Hidden Figures.
