Skepta's career journey has been chronicled in a new documentary. Apple Music released a new trailer for Skepta: Greatness Only, a documentary scheduled to premiere this Monday (Dec. 19).

"I feel like I’m the chosen one, but I chose myself," Skepta says in the above clip. "When I finally got there to where I thought was the top, I wasn’t doing what I was doing in the beginning, and I was not happy. It was a straight nervous breakdown.”

The trailer shows a few of the interviews with the people closest to Skepta, but it mainly focuses on the grime star. The London native closes out the clip with a confident statement.

"I’m free to be the top of myself,” he says. “Not the game. Not the industry. The top self, the top Skepta.”

Skepta has plenty of reasons to be feeling himself after scoring a gold record in the U.K. The veteran MC spoke about the success of his Konnichiwa album in an Instagram post.

"WE DID IT #KonnichiwaIsGold,” he wrote. “Infinite thanks to everybody listening worldwide for real, to all that offered me their help and time along the way I love you spiritually and this is still just the beginning, beast mode loading. Boy Better Know forever, Greatness only. The weekend just became 1 day longer. Link up.. Jheeeeze.”

The gold record arrived a few months after Skepta's Konnichiwa won the 2016 Mercury Prize. Skepta was the first rapper to win the award since 2003.
