Schoolboy Q followed up his Grammy-nominated 2014 release Oxymoron with an equally robust effort, dropping Blank Face in July. That album, which featured Kanye West, Vince Staples, Anderson .Paak and more was as well recognized by the Grammys, Q receiving nominations in the Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album categories. Taking to Instagram on Sunday (Dec. 18) however, the TDE rapper shared that he's already thinking about his next project.

Q wrapped his Blank Face tour last week, with shows in England, writing above, "Euros, pounds, and sum moe sHit!!! BLANKFACE TOUR IS OVER.... new album 2017 fuck a break I'm already ready." He as well used the occasion of his daughter's soccer MVP win to mention that he's nearing the finish line on the new release. "5 seasons 3 MVP awards!!!! Back to soccer dad wHile finisHing new album!!! Life is great see u soon baby," he writes below.

TDE has long been methodical in their approach to dropping albums, founder and CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith sharing a dry erase board in February of this year to tease the label's release schedule. Whatever it is Q is cooking up will likely take shape after the calendar turns. The rapper has yet to release projects in consecutive years since dropping Setbacks and Habits & Contradictions in 2011 and 2012, though the new Instagram posts, included above and below, are a good sign that that may change.
